Print finishing services to printed items

 

Special printing finishes including spot varnish, embossing, thermography, foil blocking, die cutting and lamination that take your design to a new dimension. A print finish that can transform your business literature, or turn a personal correspondence into a keep-sake. Whatever size the project, we offer a range of print finishing options to ensure that the final product is always of the best possible quality.

Binding


Lots of options to bind documents including using wires with various covers and backs. We can bind while you wait for short run presentations or schedule in as required. Books and documents that are bound can also use different coloured wires as well as options for frosted and clear acetate. 

 

Booklet making


Taking imposed printed sheets and making them into book. With options for saddle stitching, stapling and perfect binding we can ensure the final product looks fantastic. For covers over 160gsm or with lots of solid we score first before stitching and there are also options to laminate first the outer cover before being made up. 

 

Collating


We can take printed sheets and collate as needed into piles ready for other specific finishing if required. Or final documents can be printed collated into specific orders. This is sometimes used for data sheets to go into folders or for training packs.

 

Creasing and scoring


Our team can help with advising on creasing sheets for folding or booklet making. We can score & perf sheets in a variety of positions using our scoring machine or arrange to get a die made for large and complex projects. When folding sheets if they are very thick we always advise scoring first to ensure the folds look good and don't crack. Also for heavyweight boards we usually can only score and supply flat unless hand folding is requested. 

 

Die cutting


For small and large print runs we offer specialist die cutting services which are either from computer cutting or traditional made metal dies. These are perfect for larger runs such as solictors corners. However we can also computer cut short runs of sheets for mockups or packaging as well. 

 

Duplex and triplex bonding


To make extra thick cards then we can bond sheets together to give additional strength but also add effects such as having a coloured sheet inbetween white board. These can look fabulous for high end business cards or clothes tags. 

 

Embossing and debossing


For textural look and feel you can emboss or deboss images to give a high quality feel to your business cards or invites. With this type of print finshing technique you need consider the area and detail required to get the best results. 

 

Hole punching and drilling


We can drill through paper reams to create holes in paper for ring binders or document pins and ties. With a range of the common hole sizes for ring binders and tags we can quickly print finish these items same day if required. 

 

Lamination and encapsulation


We can laminate and encapsulate both short run and long run documents and posters. This can even be done while you wait at our Basingstoke office for small quantities. There are also specialist laminates we can cover paper in with unique effects. Lamination is an essential on the outer cover of brochures and folders with thick card stocks to prevent cracking. The usual laminates on paper and board are matt laminate, soft touch matt laminate and gloss laminate.  

Encapsulation is when the document is fully sealed around the edge and good for posters that are going outside or in wet environments. 

 

Padding


We can glue and pad the final prints into collated sets for notebooks, business forms and anything else required.

 

Perforating


For both short and long runs we can either perforate sheets using our perforating machine or die cut for very long runs. 

 

Spot UV varnishing


Spot UV varnishing is a way to had a wet look effect on paper and board that is targetted to a specific area. It can add really quality and style to invitations, brochures and business cards. It is really important to consider the detail and size when spot varnishing print. Fine lines don't show up as well as bold items. Stapling


Options to staple documents as they are being  printed or after they have been printed. Staple positions can be in various locations from one staple upwards. Documents can be stacked or made into books during this process. 

 

Scratch and sniff


For unique marketing via paper you can add frqgrances that are released when the surface is scratched. This is an expensive process especially if you need to create a unique fragrance and costs usually start around £1000 +. ,

 

Rub remove latex

Perfect for competitions you can add a silver latex that is scratched off to remove the prize information below.  We also have peel away cards as an alternative to rub remove latex which can be cost effective for short runs.
