Creating a special wall plaque

Barton Peveril 6th Form College have invested in a new building which officially opened on the 4th Dec 2015. With lots of wall space, they commissioned us to design a piece which would look simply stunning to celebrate the opening. With renowned British Physicist Professor Joanna Haigh performing the unveiling ceremony of the new science centre we worked on designing a piece that was modern but timeless. The design not only celebrates the opening and skills of the Professor but is also a beautiful piece of wall art that can be shared by everyone who uses this building.

The artwork was designed using Adobe software tools including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign before being printed on our Roland eco-solvent large format printer. We used a Metamark transparent self-adhesive vinyl and applied a white vinyl to the surface. The fun job of applying that to a 3m long piece of 10mm thick clear acrylic went smoothly as we installed this after the students had gone home on the night before the grand unveiling. The final results are a stunning wall graphic that will grace the building for many years.
